1. Fine & Replace:

Fine phone numbers in (xxx)xxx-xxxx format and replace with +1(xxx)xxx-xxxx.

In markets out of the US, we always need the phone numbers to start with their country code.

Regex: (\(\d{3}\))(\d{3})(-)(\d{4})

Match: +1$1$2$3$4

• Fine & Replace:

In English, money is written into the format “xxx,xxx (NUMBER) + $ (CURRENCY SIGN)“. But in Chinese, the currency symbol goes first.

So this is to find out all figures of money in this format and replace them in the correct format.

Regex:

Match: (\d{2,3})(\,)(\d{3})(¥)

Substitution: $4$1$2$3

Find three Chinese characters that are easily spelled wrong:

Chinese characters (WRONG): 什，麽，説

Regex: \u8aac|\u4ec0|\u9ebd

• Find (for QA)

Find 1-10 in Arabic numbers – some Chinese style guides request 1-10 to be written in Chinese characters whereas all other numbers keep the Arabic numbers. So we need to always check for 1-10 in QA stage before submitting the translation.

Regex: \b([1-9]|10)\b
